It costs nearly £500,000 to run the 2 Africa projects protecting and caring for reintroduced gorillas. Not only do we provide them with food and care, we also monitor bush meat trade in local markets to reduce the trade in orphan gorillas.
As well as patrolling the vast reserves ensuring gorillas are safe, not only from poachers, but the snares that they leave. Providing an environment where these magnificent animals can live and breed in safety. To date in Africa we have celebrated 6 births these are the very first for reintroduced gorillas.
